The setup we actually run, cleaned up and handed to you: a battle-tested CLAUDE.md architecture, drop-in skills, working hooks, a memory system, and a researched guide to running it all on free and low-cost APIs. One command to install. From the team that runs a real multi-agent system.
Most people open a fresh AI coding terminal and get a blank, well-meaning assistant with no memory, no discipline, and a token bill that climbs every day. The pros don't work like that. They run a harness: an operating manual the agent reads every time, guardrails that stop it from lying about success, memory that survives across sessions, and a routing setup that spends the cheapest capacity first.
The Hive Harness is that spine, generalized and made standalone. Install it into any project in one command and your terminal stops being a chatbot and starts being a disciplined engineer.
/verify (ground-truth a claim before trusting it), /ship-check (pre-deploy checklist), /plan (break a fuzzy task into verifiable steps), /daily-ops (start-of-session orientation).A serious setup shouldn't mean a serious bill. The included FREE-API-SETUP-GUIDE is the research that most guides skip: it teaches the shape of connecting any AI coding terminal to free-tier and low-cost model endpoints, so it stays true as providers come and go.
The guide names patterns, not prices you have to trust — every endpoint, model id, and limit is something you confirm on the provider's own current docs. No keys are included or hard-coded; you bring your own accounts, and the harness's secret-guard hook keeps them out of your repos.
Prefer to do it live? We're opening a done-with-you onboarding: we get on a call and onboard you onto the Hive — turn your machine into a networked Linux Hive node (Tailscale mesh + Linux) and stand up your harness together, done with you.
A zip you install with one command: a commented CLAUDE.md operating manual, four skills (verify, ship-check, plan, daily-ops), three hooks (session status, memory recall, secret-leak guard) with a settings example, a starter memory system, a README and quickstart, and a researched FREE-API-SETUP-GUIDE. The installer copies it into your project and backs up anything it would touch — nothing is clobbered.
No. If you can run a terminal command and open a Claude Code session, you can install this. The installer is one line and everything is documented. Filling in the CLAUDE.md blanks for your project takes about ten minutes.
It configures a project for Claude Code — it doesn't replace it. You use your own Anthropic / Claude Code account. The free-API guide shows how to also connect your own free-tier and local providers for the rest of your work. Nothing phones home to us.
No keys are included and none are ever hard-coded — that would be unsafe. The guide teaches the provider-agnostic patterns: how OpenAI-compatible endpoints work, where free and low-cost capacity comes from, how to get your own keys safely, how to route work across tiers, and how to handle rate limits. You bring your own accounts; the guide shows you how to point a terminal at them.
We make no income claims. This sells a capability and a setup: a disciplined, well-configured AI coding environment plus the knowledge to run it cheaply. What you build with it is up to you.
It's the same spine — the CLAUDE.md architecture, the verification and memory discipline, the hooks and skills — generalized, sanitized of anything private, and made standalone. It references none of our private infrastructure.

The Harness is your setup. The other rungs are the plays and the depth you run on top of it.
